Yves van de Poel - BELGIUM

In 1995, a dream became true for Yves Van de Poel. A dream that started 25 years ago. That year, he won the title "1st national champion of Belgium for the greater long distance races" and "1st International champion Euro Marathon". He specialized in the great international races as there are: Barcelona, Marseille, Perpignan, Dax and Pau. The cocks are played on classic widowhood, the hens however are mostly played to the nest, some small part on total widowhood. Both systems give excellent results. (since 1990: 10 times top 10 in the Barcelona national)

Jose Ledesma - CANARY ISLANDS

As Jose Ledesma developed his long distance pigeons, his birds moved to the top of the racing charts culminating in a World Record over the sea by Bayo Casablanca a 2000 bird.Bayo is the only pigeon to fly 1064 km (661 miles) over the sea. This foundation cock won 1st place in the Casablanca race and is now used exclusively in the newly organized CIBS. It was decided in 2003 to continue the selective breeding program founded by Jose Ledesma and that in turn has resulted in the CIBS. The achievements of Jose in his specialized breeding program has resulted in special birds, those with the characteristics of extreme intelligence, refined musculature and skeletal makeup, desire, instinct and homing ability. Canary Islands have about 2000 racing pigeon fanciers.

Josef and Rolf Schlömer, a father son combination, have for many years been part of the German long-distance élite. They achieved worldwide fame with their famous "Lady Barcelona". This fantastic hen won first national Barcelona 1984 and even bettered her performance 2 years later by winning first international Barcelona 1986 against 18,076 competitors from Holland, Belgium, France, Luxembourg and England. Other highlights include winning the German long distance title in 1994, 1st national ace-female pigeon (international flights 1994), 11th European Cup winner 1994, 1st national Bordeaux (868 km) 2001, Olympia participant in the sports category (long distance) in Cape Town/South Africa 2001 and 3rd National Pau (1011 km) in 2002.
